Our Top 10 Games of 2008

Well, we all know that we were expecting a lot more from the PS3 in 2007 but with a great 2008 on the way, is it time to not look back?

Here are our top 10 games to look out for this year.

  1. Grand Theft Auto IV:  This title is the one we are all waiting for, with it supposed to be released in late 07 it was delayed until April.  Now we don’t need a explaination on why it is number 1 do we?
  2. Metal Gear Solid 4: If the other MGS games are anything to go by then we know this will be awesome
  3. LittleBigPlanet: This game is going to take us back to our days when we were younger.  We get to make stuff out of spare things laying around.  No other title is going to take us back to our childish ways like this.
  4. Gran Turismo 5: The most beautiful game on PS3 and is most certain to be one of the titles that can help bring down the Xbox 360 in 08.
  5. Rock Band:  This should be good, what is better than commanding your own band and completing against other around the world?
  6. Fall Out 3
  7. Kill Zone 2
  8. Burnout Paradise
  9. James Bond 2008
  10. Army of Two

Ubisoft delays 3 PS3 title past April 08

Yeah, you read it right, Ubisoft has delayed 3 more titles until April to finish the glitchs and polish it up.  This also gives them a lower development cost and an even bigger fiscal 07 where Assassins Creed is due to sell over 5 million copies before the end of the fiscal year in April.  The titles effected are Tom Clancy’s EdWar, Far Cry 2 and Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway.  This could be good news, it means that we will not get a game that is buggy and terrible like we had in Assassins Creed, we will hopefully get nice smooth gameplay!  The second piece of good news is that it gives them more time to fifnish the highly awaited Haze, which has already been delayed many times before.  The other Ubisoft title that is currently in the works is Rainbow Six Vegas 2, which according to this news is still on target for its early, 2008 release date!

Happy New Year! And here’s to a great 2008 for the PS3!

Game of the Year 2007, as chosen by others!

  • GameDaily chose Call of Duty 4. “The campaign excels where most of its competition fails, delivering a nail-biting experience we couldn’t walk away from until the explosive finale.”
  • GameTrailers chose Call of Duty 4. “The authenticity on display here is to be commended, getting you as close as you can possibly be to something that far braver people experience–without the risk.”
  • GameSpot chose Call of Duty 4. “Modern Warfare is now the benchmark against which all console shooters will be judged, and we’re not expecting it to be bettered anytime soon.”
  • GameSpy chose Call of Duty 4. “A game that hit every target it aimed for, from its gripping single-player campaign to the ridiculously addictive I’ve-almost-got-enough-XP-for-that-cool-gun multiplayer.”
  • IGN chose Uncharted. “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune serves as the culmination of fun gameplay, an immersive story, stunning graphics, superb sound and characters you can connect with.”

Rumor: Orange Box Patch

As some of you may know the PS3 version of The Orange Box is full of bugs and glitchs that don’t exist in the Xbox 360 versions or even the PC version. Many owners of the game have complained and Valve has responded saying “I hope that we will be able to correct any major issues in the future.”  However, we have to remember that it isn’t their fault since it was the job of EA London to port the game over the Playstation 3.   Valve will still want to fix this issue though as it will give them a bad name so expect a big patch before the end of the week.
